Hi there,

Maybe we might build tougher masts in the future with carbon nanotubes.
A finnish company is developing carbon nanotube enhanced epoxy. It is
basically an epoxy blend with covalently bonding nanotubes and it has
11% elongation before break, dont know about compression strength.
It is made in different epoxy bases and concentrations.
They have some positive results about filament winded carbon poles and
carbon UD-laminates. I am going to build a rudder stock in carbon UD-
nanoepoxy, well see how it works on our impregnator. Already have the
sample and mould, just need some time.
