Not sure what the planking is, but it is not kiri and it moved all over the place due to humidity changes.   They infused the whole lot, core and both skins in one hit.  Barely an air  bubble to be seen, and no dry laminate. They have now done 4 lee hull halves, and will soon be starting the windward hulls.   Not the biggest amateur infusion in the world, but certainly the biggest first effort.

Hi,

I thought it looked like a mould with the kiri so thick and then covered in the red stuff.

And the green or blue stuff looks like foam going on in sections.

One side is resin infused at a time. ie inner glass first, must be.

Also, might get a job reading meters for the water corporation , but still interested in helping (if not full time) on 50 foot racer.

Hot today - resin went off pretty quick!

G'day,

We are slowly putting together an article.  May take a while a they keep doing new stuff.  I can tell you that the care and thoroughness that they put into sorting out the technique was awe inspiring.

The local tv station is making a video which will eventually be available.  M<eantimne, I suggest you ask any questions here and I will try to answer them.  Terge is currently at Bjørnøya (74 30'N!), will be back into the boat in the spring.

regards,

Rob

Any chance of some descrptive explanations on these photos - how or
what techniques are being used here?
