The current tow price is $20/pound. Minimum order is a 4 x 5 lb spool
box, ex Texas.

Airex is a very good material for partially glassed panel building.
But it is expensive compared to other foams. Not a big deal for a
little boat, but you only need 1/4", so buying 1/2" will be even more
money, and it will be harder to bend. Any foam can be bent, the
difference between them is the speed at which this can be done. Airex
could be bent much quicker than any of the others. How quick? Not
sure, you would need to test both type and thickness.
The harriette that I am starting this week (freight companies
permitting), will have the outer layer of glass for the middle 50% run
from gunwhale to gunwhale. This will support the foam much better and
allow for much quicker initial bending. The application of weights to
remove the negative rocker will be a much safer affair, with far less
chance of breaking the core. I think.

10mm Airex is fine for the hull bottoms. 1/2" is overkill, but will
give better damage tolerance.
