Hey, Havingdone Rob's harriette rudder mechanism, I can see how the same idea will work easily on the mast problem. Especially on sidecar fror trailing but also for big boats that wish to pass under bridges (this allows much more river and civilization approaches). Mike Gregory was planning this on two frree standing bi-rigs on catamaran. I didn't follow the sense in it, but it is strong and easy and can be extra suppported oon the mast which will not need to be ready to kick at any moment and can have the extra temporary screw/bolt or strapped on peices that cover the open neded part where the mast is free to swing back, while hinging on a pin. I will try to make two for side car improvoing its sellablity for when the time comes, it can then be dissassembled easier and pass under some low bridges like 5m high. And will then try to fix up the play in rudders by filling all free spaces where stuff can wobble about.and new blades too (with the same stock just cut out and shaped on some new peice of foam, with good fairing should sort turbulence. Imagine extra foot or so of height in the cabin and general surface of hulls would finish jobs required to do list. Hopefully. Any comment on what improvements may make boat appealing to you if you were going to buy it. Eg. trailer, outboard, diff rig?..
