G'day,

I agree about the paucity of good videos and other marketing stuff on
the boats. Not much I can do about it as I don't own any of them, and
am on the other side of the country or the world so I can't just nip
down for a photo shoot.

I am not sure how much help they would be. The Rare Bird video says
it all about straight line speed, ease pof sailing, lack of bow down
trim, flexible masts and uncluttered deck space, yet I still get to
argue these on a regular basis. Anyone who sees that video and then
argues they are slow will never be convinced. Ditto anyone who
looks at the numbers. There are a lot of people who seem to feel
threatened by proas, and we are an easy target until we get some race
results. Hopefully that will happen next northern summer when rap's
boat goes in the water.

I was in two minds about joining the thread as I knew from past
experience it would degenerate. Was surprised and pleased to get 5
pages before it did, and a few potential converts at the same time.
If they change the poll to include realistic costs, then the harry
option will be doing even better.

On the bright side, I spoke to John in China this morning. Very
confident that the first production harriette will be sailing by Xmas.

regards,

Rob
