George, given your experience do you have any comment on the Dix radius chine method. Previously I had thought it was only applicable to his Didi series then recently I noticed he has used it for a catamaran. The advantage here is flat sides of 9mm plywood and 2 laminations of 4.5 for the bottom radius that means no double diagonal splining. This looks like a potential fast build time of a compound radiused hull that would compete with Derek Kelsalls tortured flat panel method?

I was using system three epoxy.  It is more difficult wetting out CSM with epoxy do to the binder in the mat but it does work.  It takes longer for fibers to loosen up when you wet out with epoxy.  I was actually using " Fab mat" at the time, woven roving with chopped mat already on one side.   The radius depends on how much sanding you do and how much fillet you allow for in inside, I think you should be able to get 2 or 3 inch radius OK.   If you use this method I would recomend you make a small sample of joint before building full size boat.  You could leave out the Mat if using epoxy and just form a fillet on inside before you glass and put extra layer in inside joint to sand into.

What was the radius that you were achieving when you did this?

You use the channel to tape inside, put extra layer of CSM in that you can sand into then you round off outside sanding all the way thru plywood edge exposing glassed inside.  Then tape outside.  This is how The TT720 and the Seaclipper 28 that I built were done.
