That is correct. Harryproas may be more suitable to weight up than most other boats. And weight aloft dampens movement also. Have you ever noticed how big difference there is in boat movement with rig and without rig? Best noticed on a mono that has less initial stability than multi.

But when and in what conditions the increased aerodynamic efficiency would outweigh the weight aloft? And how much should the efficiency be improved to outweigh what weight aloft? I guess these remain to be the questions that boat designers still find hard to answer. At least if you want to have precise answer. Too many variables and predictions.

Weight out at the ends or high up increases pitching or rolling but also dampens the frequency of these movements. On a Harryproa with high prismatic ends and good width there is a fair amount of resistance to increasing the range of pitching or rolling so the benefits of weight high up might outweigh the disadvantages. Some people who have changed to a junk rig do report that the boat movements are less jittery with that extra weight high up.

Pitching, yawing, rolling etc. All weight far from center of gravity is bad for those movements and especially boat performance.  If that weigh is also high it is BAD. You can't get farther from center of gravity than mast top. You can't get higher either. All weight there is very bad for your performance and boat behaviour. The fanatcis try to remove every gram of weight from the mast top they can. Adding tens of kilos or more is hardly wise.
