Hi,

We tried tacking Blind Date once. I can't remember more than once.
We didn't succeed and stopped trying soon.
Maybe it can be done once you find the right way to it.
The boat looses speed very fast and needs a lot of rudder if you want to tack.
Left in irons it is very nice to be able to pull the other sheet and proceed in the opposite direction.

regards,
Rudolf

Hi,l

Wondering about tacking upwind on a harry.
Can you do it - harry sailors other than Rob , would be nice to hear from once in  a while!
I may try tommorrow on harrioette, with forwatd locked, aft steering.
Definitely too hard other day when trying briefly to tack sidecar, wouldnm't go aroyund.
Thi si is a big bonus since the boat (mine from experience) sails really weell on the "wrong side" ie sails over on the inboard side etc.
So to come up a river eg to Maylands up the Swan how much extra steering/ turning work would make it go?
Report I heard is rare bird tacked.

Doug

Congratulations on the design. simple and fits inside the container. If you are going to sail it to Oz, we have some interesting bars to go over if you want to explore some of the waterways. Both Rare Bird and Aroha have had some reasonably dramatic moments.
