Hi,
I was wondering if there is anyone on these forums that has hands on
experience with the Aircell polyester foam?
I have looked at their specs, which seem to be a step below the PVC
foams in strength/weight, but better in strength/cost. Their ads are
misleading, comparing 5 lb/cuft PVC foam vs 8 lb/cuft Aircell, but the
numbers on the 6lb Aircell seem adequate for my needs. I have also
gotten a sample, which seems fine.
I am looking at using this on the decks, bulkheads and above waterline
hull of the ww hull on a Harryproa. I am planning on using Airex
R63.80 below the waterline. I may go with corecell for the leeward
hull, but the ww hull on one of these boats is subject to very little
stress and I can save a significant amount on money using a lower
quality foam.
Despite all this, I don't want to use somethnig that will just fall
apart, and I have not been able to locate anyone who has actually used
it.
Thanks for any feedback.
