Hi,

No, I sold the Maine Cat to finance the rebuilding of our waterfront property. The result, as I predicted, was that we would have a dock and not be able to afford a boat to put there. (Do I sound a little bitter?). Anyway, that is much of the reason that I am so interested in a very inexpensive build of an inexpensive boat like a Harryproa.

The fuller story is that the boat was in a charter program in the Bahamas after our year off sailing it to the Bahamas. This was to help pay for itself, and we never really had time to go use it and probably would not have had time to use it even if we brought it back north, as we would have had to work even more to pay the loss of income from the charter program.

Hello Gardner.
Do you still have your Main Cat or did you sell it ? Why did you get rid of it ?

Happy sailing ,

On my Maine Cat, I just used a bunji cord from the hatch to the hardtop to hold it up. Cheaper and easier than a permanent cylinder install.
