Hi Lance,
There is a fair bit in the files and posts on folding systems and the front foil can generally be retracted except when pointing high or very light conditions.
I am going for a telescoping system that retracts from 6.5m to 4.2m but one designed For Raps goes to less than 2.5m and Rob's Solitarry is constrained by its berth so it needs to have the lw hull ends fold and a single beam that somehow folds back against the hull
