One thing that started to nag me after Kevins post is th eproblem of hitting the ground sideways. It doesn't happen often but I have experienced it a few time with strong currents over sand banks and once with a wave. The present systems are designed for fore and aft collisions. I realise that the sideways collisions won't be nearly as hard and would hope that the strength needed for lw resistance is enough to combat these forces. I will be having a sacrificial piece for the bottom 400mm.
