I have used epoxy to stick to vinylester and polyseter for decades.   Never had a problem.  I don't use Ve for everything because I (and my wife) don't like the smell and the way it permeates everything. Also like the long out time of epoxy and it's ability to be glue, bog or resin.  Otherwise, nothing wrong with Ve, and the price is a plus as well.

I did some tests on peel ply/ve and epoxy and it stuck well.  Gluing is all about surface area and cleanliness.  Peel ply gives you plenty of both.    Insurance is not a bad idea, though, so sanding critical joints is good belt and braces philosophy.  However, be aware that sanding a contaminated surface only spreads the contamination around.

I can't think of any long term degradation that may occur to ve or epoxy that would cause the joint to fail.

Robert,
Aft lag has some 'keep the nose up' potential, I have just realised that vertical lag could also help with self righting.  More to think about!

Seats in today, plus a couple of hours messing about with the lee hull sections, wishing I had had the patience to wait for the long table, and the foresight to make all the connections on the table.  Nothing that can't be fixed, but it is frustrating doing a job knowing it could have been better.
