Well i got it back in the water again, thist time 8.7m long lee hull, centre mast slot, longer deck and cabin, 360 degree rotateablerudders and nicer paint/fairing work.
It looks better (windows too out the winward side of cabin), and has much more inside function and should be up for bigger distances.

Rob,
Anxious to watch and hear about each step in your boat build. Impressive!  I am not suggesting that it is heavy....not at all.
I must convert kilo to pounds... Length, speed, square area, I can roughly convert in my head but have not got a "feel" for kilos yet.  For those not aware...Google will convert anything...just type in "180 kilograms in pounds" and it will instantly convert for you.  Of course just multiply by 2.2 to get very close.  I love metric but I still must convert in my head to understand what a number means.

No carbon in it, so it could have been lighter. However, I put two of the three pieces together today and it looks awfully skinny and there is a lot of unsupported hull. Will do some tests but may end up using a couple of round tubes to attach it to the beam instead of the ropes I was planning on. Will take the bathroom scales tomorrow and get a more accurate ;-) weight of the lee hull bits and the ww hull which is almost ready to turn over to do the foam bows. Progress will slow down a bit as I have to figure out how to get all three parts of the lee hull identical. They bent differently due to a) lighter laminate on the end pieces and b) the overlap in the centre piece is off centre.

Photos of two thirds of the lee hull with decks temporarily bent in the Photos section. Bit less than 2/3rds as there is still a metre/40" of foam/glass to go on the end. Spread sheet of hours/costs also updated.
