I don't know about the surface piercing rudders in all situations. But now i have overcome my turbulence and was hitting 14.1 knots the other day, so i think they may be OK.

Have you ever priced the Vara rudders? I can't find any pricing on the net. I have sent an email, but I have seen others who have not gotten replies to their emails, so I am not that hopeful.

Building or buying something like this continues to be a consideration for me. I just can't get comfortable with the surface piercing rudders on the harrys.
