Is that because the reefed sail no longer weathervanes? I still think it could get hairy dealing with any problems. It is certainly the case that the boom thing is very full and is great for supporting lazyjacks, and other stuff that could be useful. Just seems like a very bad place for a mainsail in a big blow.
