Hi,
We have lazy-jacks and one line reef plus reefing hook. Reefing can be done just as you wrote, rig weathercocked mainsail boom over the water.
Sometimes I must climb on the boom to put the boom cover in place. I wonder how I am going to do it when I am a senior citizen. Maybe lazy bag will be the solution.
Regards,
Arttu

I was reading some of the stuff on the wingsail thread, and i was wondering as a result, when the proa is in mid shunt or simply holding there, and the rig is weathercocked, the mainsail boom is over the water, how does one reef, or get a blown sail down or do other work on the main?
