Like a Shark, but the lee hull stays upright so it can be launched folded, with the mast up.
Wing masts are my preference, needs another set of bearings but can use any shape.
For the competition, the masts are vertical and sealed (external halyards, no drain plug required).
The next Solitarry has a single mast which can be canted forward while amidships to reduce sheet loads.   Could be rotated for righting.
With the hinge, a block and tackle onto whatever holds the beams horizontal is the plan.

splits in half like a shark catamaran then? if so, great! i was worried you were thinking of those crazy

scissors.

i like the idea of a schooner rig freeing up space for a head and extra bunk in the leeward hull. easier

for beginners to shunt; easier to assemble two smaller masts than one big one.

of course the racer in me would prefer a single stick with a jib, but i think the compromise is worth it in

this boat. rotating teardrop masts at least? pretty please??

re. self-righting/uncapsizable: are you thinking watertight leeward-canted masts to prevent turtling?

external halyards, and drain plugs at the bottom just in case they leak?

i'm excited! a flat panel boat is something i might just build myself, instead of having it built. would just need to find the space...
