A biplane setup would put a mast in the centre of the windward hull. This has the problems of being in the way when the windward hull has accommodation and requiring strengthening of the hull to support the mast - as this hull is larger than the leeward hull, such strengthening would require a greater amount of material (hence weight) than a mast in the centre of the smaller leeward hull. At least that is my understanding of Rob's previous comments concerning a Pacific proa configuration.
