Hi, I sailed the 70 nm Albany to Walpole yesterday. It took 14 hours: first 2 hours was variable to 5knots? and then an hour of 8-10knot hadwinds, then a tail wind seabreeze filled in gradually to be about 20 something knots at the end of the day. I went down to first reef at around noon, then to no sail (bare mast) at 2pm, and was surfing upto 10knots most of the way. Got caught by a breaker entering the walpole inlet entrance and was rammed into the boulders on the side. Some foam bow damage but was safely wahed in to the cjannel. I am doubtfull about the weather because of the 20-30 knot seabreezes, so am looking at hiring a trailer and ute (truck) to trailer home.
