So if someone might actually talk about some sailing they are doing, did or hope to do in the future - it doesn't necessarily have to be exclusively haryproas, I have been enjoying the swing keel single hull 18 footer a lot and even hit 9.1 knots on a little surf ride one day.

I was averaging 5.5 knots in an ideal seabreeze afternoon (not too blowy).
How does this compare to a lighter wider multihull?
Well I would have gotten about 10 knots on Sidecar I reckon.
Basically things are twice as long as usual.
That can mean no chance to reach someplace that is normally a good 5 hours on Sidecar - because it is a long day of sitting at the tiller - hence a one-day trip isn't doable on this Hartley 18.

I assume most people have had this feeling if they have changed from one hull to multi.

Han - I don't need defending from Todd.
Thanks, but I fight my own battles.
You could try answering the question.
I have some response on the subject of carbon tow to put forth, since Todd has rebuffed my solution, it is fair to add some arguments in my favour.

The fact is that the cheap $80 roll of tow that I bought from Rob (Denney) when he was living over here was extremely usefull for certain wrapping aroung like rope situations.
I liken the beams to hull join as the Wharram lashing style. Except you get no creep or coming loose problems when you epoxy it on.

Also the fact on the tow is that it has done plenty of other jobs around Sidear but is still barely used up - ie. it is not really expensive. I guess the regular resin and glass suppliers would stock some carbon tow although maybe a little bit more higher priced than my source.

I don't want to start defending Todd either though, but I enjoy having an argument about something like what we want to hear about - do you have no resoect for the slam tacker?
Han?
Where is your slam tacker?
I certainly haven't built one myself - infact Todd may have the only instant SHUNT ( it is actually shunting) Shunting proa around.

So Han - you haven't exactly posted the forum to add to many discussions lately. How have you been?
Did you want to share something interesting with the group?

Todd,

How can you expect to be helped when you dare to use sentences like:
"Use maeb as mold and ssalg mold to klub head and surrdouing lluh niks or is there a better-easier way?"

Who would understand that ?

Han.
