There was some discussion about publishing the WoodenBoat Design Challenge III designs in this group or the WoodenBoat Design Challenge group.
The question was if it is decent to publish designs before the september issue of WoodenBoat magazine, where the official results of the Design Challenge will be published.
I asked the guys from WoodenBoat directly.
Their (=Aaron Porter) answer is that "the winning entries were announced at the WoodenBoat Show June 24, and will be featured in upcoming issues of WoodenBoat and Professional BoatBuilder magazines."
He writes: "In short, we encourage discussion of the designs and would welcome the creation of a Design Challenge thread on WoodenBoat's very active forum (http://forum.woodenboat.com/). Electronic Images and text can be posted there by designers. Likewise the Plans & Kits section of the WoodenBoat Web site (http://www.woodenboat.com/boatplansandkits/) allows for free posting of as much information as designers might choose to include. It would be entirely appropriate for design challenge entries to be available there if designers choose to post them. I would encourage you to pursue any of these avenues for public discussion and exposure of your plans."
So let's get those proa designs there and everywhere for people to see and build them!
