Have I got this right?  You are using a video of one of your models, with harry in big letters on the side, with a cabin, rig and weight distribution the same as the original harryproa, as evidence that I have copied your design?   As I explained in the Design Competition document, the hull shape idea comes from extensive computer simulations run by Rick Willoughby.  I no more "copied" your hull shapes than those of the thousands of dories, sharpies and other flat bottomed boats that have been around for centuries.

The Latvian boat preceded harrys by ~15 years.  They are identical.  Except for the beam, lee hull, rig, rudder, underwater shape, steering and daggerboard arrangements.   I first heard about it after I had been sailing and selling harrys for some years.  The harryproa configuration makes so much sense that I would not be surprised if there were others as well.

As for your models, they are great toys, but I don't think I have ever commented on their performance, as it is so easy to make many things appear to work at model scale with no data or anything to compare them to.

Look forward to seeing how your "full size" model goes.  In particular it's downwind performance in big wind/waves with the front rudder down and the effect of banging into something hard enough to kick the front rudder up at speed.     Both of these are areas where I have found problems with the set up you are using.  Be great if you have sorted them out.  However, if you have, and don't want anybody to "copy" them, I suggest you don't put them in a public forum.  Also be nice to see some comparative upwind performance of the rig/rudder combo, either a plot or a race against another boat.

You also mention "all the problems with steering issues on shunting craft".  Could you be specific, please?

Your wooden boat challenge design is NOTHING MORE THAN an inflated version of my squareharry/slamtacker I did YEARS AGO, switching the name to slam tacker after making the model sail much better than even you though possible with flat bottom hulls, beam hung symmetrical rudders, and a wing sail. All this experimenting when the most said oh no, flat bottom and symmetrical center chord hung rudders are no good. Is it good now.
