Jan and Jan took a handful of high school girls sailing on Blind Date yesterday. I went along with my kid. I learned they added about 7 kg of carbon to the rudders. They also took off the shallow board (is that the term ?) that was added underneath the leeward hull. So I understand that below the waterline Blind Date is back to its original configuration. This was not a test and trial run; just sailing over to the other side of the meer to have lunch and back by eve. Max speed was 7.6 knots. They graciously let me botch a couple shunts ;-) If the rudders would have been connected to a USB joystick I am sure my kid would have managed.
In real life, the interior of Blind Date was much more roomy than the perception I had from the pictures. I also learned that if you do not like to be stared at or asked questions while moored, this is not the model for you ;-)
