Youri uses those on the rudder release on Elementarry.  They are  good for things like rudders where the release load is always exceeded when you hit something, but for something where the release load will vary due to waves, different weights on the windward hull and different sheet loads (amount of sail up and point of sail) it is not very reliable.    

I wanted something that was hull flying height triggered, not load triggered.
