I was up there showing the race proa guys over it today.  The plan is to take it down the river next week and do some sailing.  After that, maybe take it down to Sydney.    Pretty sure that B-G at Easter is not on the owners agenda  this year.  I can't make it as 4 of the kids I coach are competing in the O'pen Bic Nationals over easter and I am going along as head of the cheer squad/in charge of commiserations.

There will not be permanent running backstays, just the topping lift, which will need to be flicked over the roach each time we shunt.    If the Sydney trip happens, we will take the sailmaker for a sail and see if he can recut the jib luff so the backstay isn't necessary.

Hi Rob

will Rare Bird have a chance to the sail B2G this year? And if yes will there be a second stay from the top of the mast to the boom to avoid distortion of the mainsail if the jib sag needs to be powered up ;-)
Also will somebody please bring a waterproof video camera!
