It is nice to know someone else appreciates the data.

No doubt the best way to test performance is in races or actual passages.  If you are only out for a sail then having good data for reference is the best way to get a realistic picture.  

Without the actual data the 13kts could be exaggerated to a steady 13kts rather than a brief hint that it is possible.  If nothing else it gave a glimpse of the loads required to get a 4t boat to that speed and the sort of gear required to handle it.  I wish I had the camera rolling to record it but there was a bit too much happening at the time.  

It did highlight how important the rudder indicators are.  With the in-line helms there is no intuitive sense of the way to turn the wheel.  With experience it will become automatic.  Until then having the indicators buried beneath wash from the bow makes it difficult.  I expect that we will revert to steering with the trailing rudder when the boat is being pressed so the indicator for the steering rudder is visible.
