Hi
I was on the boat with Rick yesterday
A few additional observations:
- the boats windward ability compared well to a local monohull fleet doing midweek races
- directional stability - it tracked well with no real vicious weather helm for example
- steering with either rudder independently was an interesting feature
- needs some work re sail handling loads ie some fittings underspec
Easily addressed
- questions - mostly ongoing speculation re underhung rudders vis a vis beam hung rudders
- unarig vs balestron
All in all a big day , a loping efficient cruiser made port Philip a big body of water feel pretty small
- having sailed on rare bird in ocean conditions this steering system is a marked improvement
