I can confirm what Rob says re XL2.
I owned XL2 for nearly 20 years and for most of that time had a copper/epoxy coating (foul resistant, not anti-foul) on the bottom.
Initially copperepoxy by System three (supplied by Rob) then later Bote-Cote (boatcraft pacific) after Rob ceased epoxy trading.
Both worked about the same. I now have the Bote-Cote stuff on my 24' tri which is kept on a mooring in Lake Macquarie. I have to scrape fortnightly. Weekly would be overkill but would be only  a wipe over. After 2 weeks we have 1mm dia barnacles but they come off easily.
After 3 weeks the barnacles are 4 mm dia but still come off easily. Not looking forward to next week - scraping after 5 weeks of neglect.
This is definitely the fastest method for a mooring kept racer and a true cruiser won't mind wiping down weekly IMO.
