  My guess is that the goal would be both a design legacy and a financial reward. 

  A lot of time and money go into the designs and prototypes, so I think it's nice that Rob can sell plans here and there in order to offset the costs.  Even if the system doesn't generate any profits, it should at least be able to fund itself.  That way we all benefit.

  .....  If I were Rob, though, I'd be leery of official Harryproa models because the results would be the equivalent of a set of detailed plans.  Perhaps if only a solid model were shipped, with the 3D files staying in  Rob's control...
