Thank you for the additional pointers. The specs are very different. The L/B seems below 10 even for the lee hull. They went through several versions with, I guess, the last pictured on the Seabbatical web site. Apparently, they retained some sort of pod on both hulls. Would it be effective to counter capsizing? The rudders drawn seem Kelsall style. However, the Seabbatical blog describes Denney style rudder/boards. The rig is now clearly a twin wing masted mainsail. Where will the steering wheel go?

Seabbatical gives already a hint as to cost:
"Right now the material to build the shell is 80% of that required to build a 39 ft catamaran. But we are building a 16M or 52 ft boat with 24 ft beam only 2 ft draft and about 7 tons displacement. It should have more accommodation than a 42 ft cat with 4 queen berths in the hulls and room in the saloon for 4 - 6 kids to sleep. The performance should be equivalent to a 52 ft cat"

The crux, though, is the cost of ownership as Seabbatical rightly emphasizes.

If constructed as last drawn, this model may quickly gain the nickname "flying pancake" ;-)
