I'm a catamaran sailor, and I've been getting the bug to build
something, but I think I'd like it to be a Proa. I was wondering if
there are any Proa owner/sailors in the Chicagoland area who'd be
interested in talking, and perhaps when the season begins, going for a sail.

Currently I sail a Sol Cat 18. It's a fun boat, but it's clearly
designed for a crew weight starting at 250 and up. I'm a fly-weight, so
solo sailing (even from the trap) is rather restricted to light air.
It's not an ideal boat for me. Building a proa could help me solve that
annoyance. There are of course other cats around, but proa are so much
more interesting to me.

(BTW, is the plural of proa also "proa" or is "proas" more correct?)
