Last year I decided to have a crack at building a proa. My plans got a little sidetracked when I decided to dust off a piece of software I wrote and shelved about 15 years ago. I wasn't that impressed with the boat design software I trialled late last year. Don't get me wrong, software packages like DelftShip are impressive. The particular problem I observed was that I could not be confident that the lines of complex hull shapes with several longitudinal control points would be fair. I have developed my software to overcome this problem and add some additional functionality.
Solid modelling: specify the skin thickness and an interior skin and solid hull skin are produced enabling bulkheads and furniture to be subtracted from the hull, yielding a perfect fit.
Longitudinal control of joint radii to suit KSS.
Flattening and darting of compounded hull sections, again for KSS.
I've launched a blog with lots of pics and further explanation:

Please be aware that this software is not yet available (other than possibly as a drawing service). There's currently no user interface. If there's sufficient interest, this may change.
Cheers,
