It was meant tongue in cheek, of course.

Being way out of my league here, I have the impression that a sponsor is the bootstrap for such a projects. All else, also the designer, are on an invitation basis. I believe a case can be made that the large existing trimarans offer enough construction points of reference as to be readily extrapolated to a HP and require minimal research. Thus, in general, one would not expect a designer to orchestrate this whole shebang. The special projects manager reporting to the chief marketing and sales guy would.

The peculiarity of the HP could (for once ;-) be used to spike the interest of a large advertiser with a product/image/"commercial story" that would fit a top notch out of this world technological reinvention of an age old ancestral roam the largest seas surfing the sacred magic of wind and waves ahead of the albatrosses as emissaries of Posseidon, the god of ... cross out what does not fit your product's image ... I can see this video clip going viral instantly ;-)

On a more serious note, there are way more chances of success than hitting the jackpot in Las Vegas, sending off a brief about the 150' superduperSol to the largest advertising companies as they are constantly on the lookout for out-landish machines to battle the natural elements. Aren't they?
