Sorry I wasn't clear.

Will be a standard balestron with jib and main.  Jib and main will have equal foot lengths.  The only difference will be that instead of a solid wing mast, the mast will be round and have a gaff main sail with luff sleeve.  Area of jib will be about 1/2 that of main.  Leech of jib will be about the same length as luff of main.

I haven't discussed the topsail with Wharram, but can't see why it would be a problem as topsails have been around for a rew hundred years and is very simple to manage unless it gets too large.  If I run into problems I can't solve will just discard it as failed experiment.
