I am referring to the concavity in the keel line where it leaves the water at both ends in the photo.  The keel line for the portion you cannot see is essentially flat.  

 

The central buttock line starts almost horizontal at the foot of the stem then turns down to form a concave curve before making a short convex turn to the flat bottom then a short convex turn aft of the flat to a longer concave curve to the stern.   This lines view might make it clearer:

Wow that hull has alot of rocker. Looks good. But to me the surface touching the water would be called convex. Like a floating bowl, which is concave on the topside, convex below. Missing something?

And why so long if most of it isn't in the water? I thought longer waterline added speed.
