Come on ... please stop re-creating this unwanted competition between Rob Denney and Russell Brown.  They design very different boats for very different reasons.  This stupid armchair-promoted conflict between the two of them is the single biggest obstacle to getting proa enthusiasts to behave and co-operate with each other.  We lose credibility out in the mainstream world when they look in and see nothing but internal conflict and rhetoric.

Rob appears to have thoughtfully and carefully come up with his Bucket List concept - and it isn't positioned to compete with any of the Beiker / Brown boats under development.  Smart, because Rob is now focusing on bring new people into the proa world, rather than fighting about the few of us that are already interested.

Two different paths chosen to reach two different places isn't a good reason for wasting any energy.  It is up to each of us to choose which path we follow, and I personally think there are lots of merits to both camps.  My personal approach is to carefully pick and choose the elements of both designs I think will arrive at what I am looking for.

Help Rob promote the Bucket List concept with the people that really matter - people new to proas.  Rob's energy and enthusiasm is best spent getting the first real boats out there and evangelizing the concept to a new audience.  It's pretty obvious that re-opening the Brown design issues is a waste of time and only leads to alienating the people he needs to help promote proas to the general yacht racing public.  Every second spent arguing with Jim Brown's son only hurts the Bucket List concept in the multihull world.

Imagine how well Bucket List would be accepted in racing circles if Paul Beiker and Russell Brown could be persuaded to help promote proas instead of defending themselves because of silly Internet armchair conflicts like this?
