All involved are big boys. The exchanges are not much different in other technical forums. It must be due to the nature of these media, not the personalities of the posters.

Nobody knows how to make HP go viral. A "classic clash of the titans" is as good an idea as any. With sponsoring money pouring in becoming friends is easier while in front of the camera's the challengers would hype up adversary appearances. This would not be a show for sailors. They prefer to sail.
The catch is sponsoring. I suspect their kickstarter bit fizzled. I am not sure one for BL would fare better. But one pitching one against another may have a better chance to attract attention. I doubt I would put that as a high priority in the marketing communication's plan. But what else is there?
Gunboat has been pushing the right buttons in the right market segment. There are not too many other examples of success. It was rather funny to read that Gunboat's owner bought CLC madness.
I would rather imagine a BL "happening" to sail past a GB G4. But I guess there is horde of other boats with the same itch.
