I agree that it can speed up any site, even a dynamic php/database
site like wordpress. I'm not sure it could help with the processing
that can only happen at the originating server.
But with an entry price of $0/month, who cares what I think? Why
not give it a shot? The most likely result is probably that the
site would be faster, with content distributed around the globe, and
the best case would be that the bug/issue clears up without any
additional effort.

Cloudflare can speed-up slow wordpress sites like this too. Stopping all the bot traffic is also a big plus.
