You could always slow the boat down to a standard condomaran D/L
and SA/D, perhaps with equal-length hulls. That would cut down on
the waterline length, give you more accommodation-per-foot, and cut
a few percent out of the build cost (minor cost reduction due to the
flat panel infused build process). You could also carry more weight
by making the hulls unidirectional, and thereby able to balance
heavier loads with less length.

Okay, without my tongue-in-cheek, I have to say that I agree with
the cons you list.
But it's going to be tough to eliminate the size if you want a
fast bidirectional boat capable of supporting enough weight for
several people to live aboard without going minimalist.
Likewise, the price is more than I can currently afford, but that
said, the Cruiser 60 still costs less than a 36 foot trimaran, and
it's going to be noticeably faster, safer, and more seaworthy.
At some point even inspired design won't be able to circumvent the
laws of physics in terms of: a) the structure and waterline length
required to support the loads with minimal wetted surface area, and
b) the cost of materials needed to build that structure.
I'm not sure you can optimize the cost-per-seaworthy-knot equation
much more than a flat panel infused harryproa.

What I really like about Cruiser 60
* the comfort and liveability of the volume
* the potential as a liveaboard
* the capacity to cruise anywhere I would want to go safely
* shallow draft
* aspects of construction that permanently keep costs down
* the schooner rig is very appealing
* the build method seems quicker and simpler than any other proposal I can think of
What I do not like
* the marina fees of a multihull that is 60ft, and it is ongoing
* the cost, cheap as it is, its a lot of dough and for me thats prohibitive
* if it was available a 'speed' kit would be even more prohibitive
* when a boat is big, all of the maintenance is going to be more costly
* the seemingly under-developed accommodation plan, though not hard to change
