are you guys familiar with the way the outboard engine well works on a hobie 33? picture is here: http://www.luxuryatch.com/wp-content/uploads/1985-hobie-33--9.jpg
instead of the outboard hanging off the stern, there is a well in stern. this pic is looking straight down into the well. see the hull plug wrapped around the shaft of the outboard? and the the tubular metal struts just around the perimeter of the plug? this pic was taken with the outboard in the stowed position. just below the engine head is a hole through the hull, which has another plug in it. to deploy the engine, you rotate the motor 90 degrees using the strut, take out the plug in the hull, and then lower the engine until the plug around it's shaft mates with the hull.
