Rob Denney - "Race to Alaska is a very challenging race.  Could be just the incentive to me to fork out some cash to get Buckelt List finished, rather than wait until the builder has time and cash flow.    If anyone is interested in doing next year's R2AK, please let me know. "

I think someone should take Rob up on his offer.

"Bucket List  (length is king, although a little harder to pedal) with the dodger and a pedal powered prop mounted on the beam.  2 crew, one asleep, the other standing/sitting in the hull under the dodger.  Warm(ish) and dry regardless of the conditions.  Easy to cook, navigate and communicate, very little need to leave the shelter, and when you do, the boat can be stopped.  Unless it is raining, wet weather gear would barely be needed."

If the conditions were right with less wind (this year they weren't) I really think the Bucket List would have a shot at winning it and could certainly finish it which would go a huge way to establishing its credibility.

It may actually be an ideal race for the Bucket List, normally the winds are much lighter and that should really favor the lighter boats, if they are tough enough to take the occasional thrashing.
