The full PDF from your reference was very interesting. Especially the note that a sail typically has a CL of .6 to .8 if perfectly trimmed.

 I think the Atlantis wing was unduly heavy and complicated, over thirty percent of the wings weight was a battery and ballast? His estimation of the Reynolds number at 200,000 is probably double the real Reynolds number. I did like the vortex generator he put on the wing though makes a lot of sense.

After going through all of his examples of wing masts, the take home seems to be that if the wing is kept light, strong and simple, it generates plenty of power, is extremely easy to control and can probably survive well feathered into the wind when not being used.
