So waves are only steep choppy things or things that peak in shallow water and break on a coastline.  So swells only become waves when the uniform wave form becomes chaotic and breaks up.  Disambiguation at last!  To say nothing about the irony of such a pronouncement.

C-Fly is not "keeping the boat horizontal to the horizon".  This flies in the face of the evidence in the videos.  It dynamically profiles waves (by which I mean waves, in the scientific sense).  Period.
