The ones on Solitarry are bolted on.  One in each corner, through double bulkheads.  The head end has a big washer welded to it and is bonded in place on the boat side bulkhead.  Access hatch on the bow side  to tighten them up.  Silicone washers to keep the water out. 

The photo is of the removable bow sections before the foam end pieces were added.

2.  Completely unrelated.  What is in this pic?  It's from the Solitarry build video
