Could be done, but as always with this sort of thing, the devil is in the detail.  Getting it on and off, sealing it, etc would all have to be worked out.

I think It would be simpler, easier and faster to build and more portable too.  I would think a hull could contain a stove, cold box, porta pot, storage etc.

With the living area detachable, it could be left off when just day sailing or in a race.

Just thinking out loud.
