Look at this picture.

It shows both a hatch and a window. The important feature is that they are flush and the gutter drains.
The other stuff is that the corners are rounded and the surrounding area is stiffened.
I am pretty sure a molded in window and hatch are superior to a commercial bolt or glue on hatch. Cheaper, stronger, everything is better, except for more labor : (
