Which fairy tale?  And here I thought it was what someone who cuts down trees was called. I am a skeptic by nature.

Ahh well, did you ever figure out how to get the stern of your boat up? Nothing like pedaling uphill forever. ^^

I'll give you a clue, if you think of the bow like a wing and increase its prismatic coefficient it may help. Yours is too slender. . .

P.S. I also think you confused glide ratio of a sailplane (L/D) with the L/D of a wing.  That 40/1 you referred to is for the whole plane not just the wings.
