At the site, GeoGarage: The drone that will sail itself around the world
or the video it claims an average speed of 5 knots and a top speed of 9 knots.
It made it to Hawaii in 34 days including two weeks of the doldrums so sailing 2400 miles in 20 days or 120 miles per day for a 5 mph average speed. Almost typical displacement hull speed and the boat design looks really draggy and not very stable at all. A very good test of the concept.
It survived a gale, unscathed, without reefing.
I did notice in the article the author didn't mention the Stabilizer (he called it an elevator), I kind of expect that kind of ignorance from a reporter though.
