I got a quote

 Offering: from kgraham@pennstainless.com

18" SCH 10S (.188") T316/316L WELDED PIPE 20 FT SRL

Delivered Price $2682.35

18" SCH 10S (.188") DUPLEX 2205 WELDED PIPE 20 FT SRL

Delivered Price $5822.22

I am pretty sure I can use that to mold with and for a sleeve with UHDWPE (or the wood) and it should last.

Still trying to get a quote on bronze.

I think this will work better than two bearings, but not as well as multiple bearings.

The total cost, fabrication time, maintenance issues all favor the Bearing Sleeve method.

Also my calcs indicate less point stress, but the sleeve won't rotate as easily as unloaded bearings. . . I am not sure that I should care.
